While there is a growing array of treatment options for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), there is currently no practical, low-cost method for detecting AMD at the early stages. Apeliotus Vision Science is developing a simple, cost-effective diagnostic tool for the early detection of AMD. Called AdaptDX, the device is based on dark adaptation, the transition from being light-adapted to being dark-adapted.
